Childcare

  • We provide opportunities for you to attend our morning and evening meetings while allowing your children to enjoy a program of their own. 

    • ​Nursery (0-4yr)- Your child will enjoy great age appropriate opportunities to have fun and interact with other children.

    • Juniors (5-12yr)- We provide a VBS-style program for your child during regularly scheduled meeting times.

What to Bring

  • No need to bring the kitchen sink; we've got that. We also provide sheets, pillows, and blankets. Just bring towels for both beach and room use, clothes for cold and warm weather, and smiles to pass around!

Don Deyoung - Bible Speaker

July 6-12

For several decades Don DeYoung has a served on the science faculty at Grace College, Winona Lake, Indiana.

 

He is a graduate of Michigan Tech, Grace Seminary, and also holds a physics doctorate from Iowa State University. Don has written 21 books on Bible-science topics including object lessons for kids. His research interests include lunar tides and also biomimicry which explores design in nature.

 

Dr. DeYoung is president of the Creation Research Society with 1800 members worldwide. This group publishes a technical journal and operates a laboratory in Arizona. Don speaks on a broad range of Bible-science topics and believes that the details of nature are a powerful testimony to the Creator’s care for mankind. His camp topics will include the biblical view of astronomy, creation-evolution, dinosaurs, earth’s age, the Genesis Flood and more.

 

Don and his wife Sally have three married daughters and nine grandchildren, all in northern Indiana.  

Clare Jewell - Missionary Speaker

July 6-12

Clare and Donna have been married for 37 years and currently live in Salem, Oregon. They
raised four daughters – Natalie, Nicole, Erica and Deanna. The oldest three are married and have
blessed Clare and Donna with 13 grandchildren!

 

Clare serves as the Director of Church Planting for ABWE, and as their Regional Director for
North America West. He also serves as the National Coordinator for church planting for the
GARBC, and is the Director of the Baptist Builders Club which provides grants for church
planting, church revitalization, leadership development, and disaster relief. In addition, Clare is
an adjunct faculty member at Corban University in Salem, Oregon. Prior to serving with ABWE,
Clare was the pastor of Lakewood Park Baptist Church in Auburn, Indiana for 22 years. Donna
teaches kindergarten at Sonshine Christian School in Salem, Oregon. Donna has taught for more
than 30 years! She has also served in women’s and children’s ministries for many years.

 

Clare and Donna love a good movie and board games. Clare is constantly reading and is an avid
Michigan State fan. He also likes to ski and hike. Donna enjoys biking, travel and hanging out
with friends. They also cherish every moment they can spend with family. There’s nothing quite
like hanging out with 13 grandkids in the same house!

Brian Schulenburg - Bible Speaker

July 13-19

Brian Schulenburg is the Discipleship Pastor of Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. He has served as Youth Pastor and Senior Pastor at churches in Virginia, Illinois, and Minnesota. Brian has a heart for seeing people become followers of Jesus. From the time God captured his heart as a child, Brian has been introducing people to Jesus. He loves walking alongside of others as they discover who God made them to be. He has served as a police chaplain with the Eden Prairie Police Department, been the Director of the Northstar Church Multiplication Center, served on the national church planting team for the CCCC’s denomination, and authored a few books.

Married for over 25 years to his wife Cyndi, the Schulenburgs are parents to four children – two who are married, one in college, and one in high school. He is a graduate of Liberty University and Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. Brian loves being on the water of a Minnesota lake, fishing, playing disc golf, geocaching, board games, superhero movies, comic books, baseball, and basketball. You’ll also find him stocking books in the Little Free Library in front of his home.

 

Brian will be teaching lessons on discipleship from the book of Acts. 

David Livingston - Missionary Speaker

July 13-19

David serves with Word of Life as the Regional Coordinator for the Piedmont Region (VA, NC and SC) and has ministered to local churches with Word of Life since 2003. His passion is helping local churches develop disciple-making youth ministries through leadership development in the church.  In the 15 years of their ministry together, he and Earlene have consulted with and assisted dozens of churches in the U.S. and several international locations with Word of Life.  Married for 40 years, the Livingstons came from a background in public education and many years of service as volunteers in their local church prior to joining the Word of Life staff.  They have three grown daughters whose families are involved in full time Christian service with their husbands and have been blessed with 7 wonderful grandchildren.

Jim Jeffery- Bible Speaker

July 20-26

Jim is the Equipping Pastor of Chapel Pointe Church, a dynamic and growing ministry in the greater Grand Rapids MI area. His ministry focuses on adult discipleship, small groups, bible electives, care ministry and equipping leaders in each of these areas.He enjoys sharing the preaching ministry and consulting with other churches and leaders to advance the cause of Christ.
 

He served as a pastor for twenty-six years, including ministries at Grace Baptist Church,Binghamton, New York; Calvary Baptist Church, Sandusky, Ohio; Lakewood Park Baptist Church, Auburn, Indiana; and Calvary Baptist Church, Grand Rapids, Michigan.He was ordained into the ministry in October 1978 by Grace Baptist Church, Binghamton, New York. Jim has enjoyed preaching and teaching in local church bible conferences, camp ministry, pastor’s fellowships and college campuses.
 

Jim Jeffery served as the President of Baptist Bible College & Seminary now Clarks Summit University for fourteen years from 2001-2015. He served as a member of the Board of Trustees for eleven years prior to his appointment and was Chairman for three years. He aslo He served on the boards of Baptist Mid-Missions, Camp Patmos, and Ohio, Indiana, & Michigan state pastors’ fellowships.
 

President Jeffery is an alumnus of BBC (Now Clarks Summit University), earning his Bachelor of Religious Education degree in 1979. He is also a graduate of Practical Bible College (now Davis College), earned a Master of Religious Education in Pastoral Ministry degree at Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary, and has done doctoral studies at Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary and Grace Seminary. He was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Divinity degree by Shepherds Seminary in Cary, North Carolina, in 2005.
 

Jim married his high school sweetheart, Alberta “Bert” Dart, in 1973. They have three children, Daniel, Amy, and Rachel, three children-in-law, and eleven grandchildren. Jim and Bert love spending time with family and building into the faith and lives of their grandchildren.
 

His hobbies include riding his Harley, swimming, biking, downhill skiing, golfing, and reading.

Ken Dockery- Missionary Speaker

July 20-26

Sensing a call from God to urban church planting, Ken and his wife Renee moved their family to Cleveland, Ohio in 2008. Ken serves as part of the pastoral team at CityView Baptist Church in Cleveland's downtown neighborhood. Ken and Renee have been part of the mission family at Continental Baptist Mission since 2004.

Tom Phillips- Bible Speaker

July 27-Aug. 2

Tom Phillips was born in a Pastor's home in Bristol, Tennessee.  At age 12 he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior through a Word of Life Bible Club at the Highland Park Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

 

Tom developed an interest in music, youth ministry and the Word of God while still in high school and entered Tennessee Temple University upon high school graduation to major in Music Education.  In 1974, Tom graduated from Tennessee Temple with a BS degree in Secondary Education and married his college sweetheart, Fay Morrison. Tom did further post graduate work at Temple Baptist Theological Seminary on his Master of Education Degree.  Tom and Fay began their full time ministry with Word of Life that summer.  Tom and Fay have three sons who are married.  All three sons are in full time ministry.

 

Tom and Fay have spent over 40 years in the Word of Life Ministry with assignments as camp director in Tennessee, California, Florida and in New York State. Tom is presently the Campus Pastor and a Guest Lecturer for the New York Campus of the Word of Life Bible Institute and the Director of the Word of Life Traveling Band called, “Revive”. They presently reside in Schroon Lake, NY.. In his 40 years of working with young people through the Word 0f Life Ministry Tom has spoken to thousands of students through Youth Camps, Youth Rallies, School Meetings, church meetings, and Word of Life events. 

 

Tom’s life verse is Colossians 2:6,7, "As you have therefore received Jesus Christ so walk in Him, rooted and built up in the faith as ye have been taught, abounding in it, with thanksgiving."  Tom believes in a passionate, dynamic life style.  This life verse reminds him that the same joy and enthusiasm he had the first day he met Jesus as a teenager should characterize his life each day.

Scott Phillips-Missionary Speaker

July 27-Aug. 2

D.S. Phillips (Scott Phillips) is an Author, Translator and Church Planter among the Dao tribe of Indonesia. He, along with his wife Jennie moved to Indonesia when they were barely out of their teens. Not long afterwards they stumbled across a fierce, murderous, stone-age people group in the remote jungles only to find that they were the fulfillment to prophetic dreams given to the tribe long before their arrival.They have been serving in the remote jungles of Indonesia for more than 15 years and now continue to serve among the isolated Dao tribe along with their five sons (Moses, Job, Lazarus, Boaz & Jedidiah).

Andy Giessman-Missionary Speaker

August 3-9

Andy Giessman is the founder and executive director of Addison's Walk - a unique college ministry located in Scranton, PA. Andy has over 20 years of youth ministry and pastoral experience that he brings to his teaching. He holds advanced degrees in theology and philosophy and he teaches both at the University of Scranton. Andy is in demand to speak at camps, retreats, churches, youth groups, and colleges across the country. He and his wife Becky, and their two children live in Scranton. 

Andy is on an eternal quest to discover the world's greatest "big sandwich" aka hoagie, grinder, sub. Seriously, he is. 

Jim Lacy - Bible Speaker

August 10-16

Jim Lacy has served as a pastor for 43 years as well as a professor of ministry at Cornerstone University for 20 of those years. He has served as an interim pastor in 14 churches and currently "ministers to ministers." It has been his privilege to preach in 10 countries.

 

His doctor of ministry degree is from Trinity International University in Chicago. He and his wife, Nancy, live in Sparta, MI and have 3 children and 3 grandchildren.


Jim likes sports, good jokes, and is trying to deal with his Mountain Dew addiction.
